Hello again Church Family!
Since I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, I just wanted to send you a brief update (I won't repeat everything I said in my very long update Saturday, so if you want more details, you can check that) 😄
The doctor is very encouraged by the progress my hand has made with therapy. In fact, he was elated and told me that I made his day (and those are his words, not mine... I actually wonder if "elated" wasn't his "word of the day" or something since he said it so many times). 😄 . He even called in his physician's assistant to see the progress my hand has made because he was so excited about it...
Anyway, since my hand continues to improve with the therapy, he has said that we will just continue with the therapy (at least for now). As I mentioned in my last message, avoiding the scar removal surgery would be awesome! And if my hand continues to improve, we just might be able to do just that 😄 .
I will have another follow-up visit with the doctor in 6 weeks. On the one hand, I am relieved that we can put off considerations of the surgery for a while yet, on the other hand, I am disappointed that I must continue on with no end in sight; it has been a long process and I would like to have done... So, the doctor has said to continue physical therapy 2x per week (in Twin). This week I will get a bit of a reprieve from traveling as the scheduling simply does not work out (with the upcoming holiday and everything) so I won't be headed back to Twin this week. However, beginning next week I shall be back on my normal Tuesday/Friday schedule, so if anyone ever needs anything from Twin or wants to go to Twin, let me know 😄
